IGN: Bringing Guitar Hero World Tour to Wii

So far it looks like GH4 for Wii won’t be an underdone port like Rock Band. I’m wondering if Harmonix will announce a sequel by the end of the summer to try to get people to hold off on buying GH4.

Game Informer has a picture of the drum kit for the upcoming Guitar Hero IV. The immediate, unanswered question is whether or not the game will work with Rock Band’s hardware, and vice-versa. Business-wise it doesn’t make sense to me to force customers either to choose between platforms or to fill up their houses with 6-8 plastic instruments. I can see lots of parents and spouses denying the purchase of yet another set of plastic drums.

Apropos of yesterday’s posts about Rock Band, it also bears stating that, while unfortunate, it’s not Harmonix’s fault that Activision won’t let them use Guitar Hero controllers with their game. It probably is their fault they didn’t want to cough up the money for the licensing, but that’s an argument for three months ago.
